Silver LEVEL SPONSOR

The Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC), a dynamic, public-private partnership, it is a Governor appointed, business-led, coalition of industry, state agencies, and their local system partners, as well as statewide and community based organizations.

The vision of the CWDC is that every Colorado business has access to a skilled workforce and every Coloradan has access to meaningful employment, resulting in statewide economic vitality. This coalition works to create an integrated talent development network meeting the needs of students, job seekers, workers, and businesses by aligning education, training, workforce development, and economic development efforts with the needs of industry.

The CWDC and its coalition of partners utilize sector strategies and career pathways as the methods to accomplish its work.  Colorado piloted the Next Generation of Sector Partnerships in 2013, and has since worked with national leaders to create tools such as the Sectors Convener Guide and Career Pathways Step-by-Step Guides.  Colorado is intentional in its definitions; sector strategies include our Next Generation Sector Partnerships as well as other sector-specific and cross-sector public-private partnerships that follow proven practices in industry engagement and leadership.  Career pathways have multiple layers and components, including a statewide system, regional systems, a variety of programs, maps, and tools.  Career pathways include work-based learning programs and models such as career exploration, internships, apprenticeships, and on-the-job training.  Colorado is seen as a national leader in blending these systematic solutions with strong local customization.

TalentFOUND is Colorado’s brand for this work. Through it we are helping students, job seekers, workers, and businesses design their own unique path to success. Learn more at www.sectorssummit.com.
